- The MYTVOnline version depends on the box: 4 on the Z12 range, 3 on the Z11 range and Z mini, 2 on the Z10 range and GTV.
- An Xtream login (Formuler calls it XC) needs no MAC registration. A MAC-ID portal does.
- Formuler says catch-up does not work with M3U playlists. Use the XC login if your plan includes catch-up.
- Recording needs a USB drive or a NAS. The Z12 Ultra records to its own storage.
Which Formuler box runs which MYTVOnline in 2026?
The app version decides where every menu is, so check your model first. Formuler, a trademark of Atlas Link Inc., ships each hardware generation with a different major version of its player, and older guides often point to screens a new box no longer has. This is the current Android lineup on formuler.tv in October 2026:
| Model | Software | MYTVOnline | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Z12 Ultra | Android 12 | 4 | 4 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, Wi-Fi 6E. Records to internal storage |
| Z12 Ultra SE | Android 12 | 4 | 2 GB RAM, 64 GB storage, Wi-Fi 6E |
| Z12 Pro | Android 12 | 4 | 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage, Wi-Fi 5 |
| Z11 Pro Max | Android 11 | 3 | 4 GB RAM, 32 GB storage, Wi-Fi 6 |
| Z11 Pro | Android 11 | 3 | 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage, Wi-Fi 5 |
| Z mini | Android 11 or 12 (Formuler’s page gives both) | 3 | 8 GB storage, powered by USB-C. No Ethernet port listed |
| GTV | Android TV 12 | 2 | Google Play, Bluetooth voice remote |
| Z10, Z10 Neo, Z10 SE | Android | 2 | Older range, still listed |
None of these is sold as a Google TV device. The GTV page says “Powered by Android TV”, and the Z-series pages call the boxes Android OTT streamers. Formuler’s help desk says other apps install from Formuler Market or the Google Play Store, both under Home, then Market. The Z12 and Z11 boxes and the GTV have a Gigabit Ethernet port, which matters more for live sports than any other spec. Older boxes such as the Z8 and Z Alpha have left the lineup, but Formuler’s portal guide covers all models, so the logins below still work on them.
How do I add an IPTV login to MYTVOnline?
Your provider sends one of three login types, which Formuler names MAC-ID, XC and M3U. All three go in the same screen: Content Sources on versions 3 and 4, Connections on version 2.
With an Xtream login (XC)
- Open the content sources screen for your version and add a new source.
- Choose XC. Formuler’s guide lists two fields for it: the portal URL, and the username and password.
- Type the server address exactly as your provider wrote it, including http:// and the port number after the colon if there is one.
- Enter the username and password from the same email.
- Save. MYTVOnline loads the live channels and guide, plus any movies or series on the login.
XC needs no MAC registration, so it is the fastest route on a new box. A long M3U link already contains the server, username and password. Our M3U and Xtream guide shows how to split one into the other.
With a MAC-ID portal
A portal login identifies the box by its MAC ID. Formuler says you can find it on the sticker under the box and on the portal connection screen in MYTVOnline. Send that ID to your provider, wait for them to register it, then add a MAC-ID source and type the portal URL they send back. Formuler’s example address ends in /c. The MAG box portal guide explains how portal logins behave, since MAG boxes use the same system.
With an M3U link
Formuler’s M3U screen asks for a playlist URL and a separate EPG XML address for the guide. You lose catch-up this way, so keep it as the fallback.
Xtream, portal or M3U: which login should you use on a Formuler?
Use XC if your provider offers it. It needs nothing registered and it brings the guide with it. Formuler’s help desk also ties two features to the login type. Catch-up is unavailable on M3U playlists. Recording one channel while you watch another works only on XC logins and M3U playlists that allow more than one connection. Formuler does not list MAC-ID portals for it.
A MAC-ID portal makes sense if you are moving a portal subscription over from a MAG box. With BuyIPTV.ca you can have either: we send the Xtream login by email or WhatsApp, or you send us the MAC ID and we register it for a portal.
How do I fix the TV guide on MYTVOnline?
When programs show at the wrong times, change the EPG offset on the login itself. Open your content source, choose Edit, set the offset and press Update. On MYTVOnline 2 the offset sits at the bottom of the Edit screen, next to an EPG mode switch between UTC and Normal.
If a channel shows “No information” in the guide, Formuler’s advice is to try the offset first and then ask your provider whether that channel has guide data at all. Some channels never do. Our EPG guide covers how guide data reaches an IPTV app.
Catch-up, recording and watching two channels
Catch-up
Formuler also calls it Replay: programs that already aired, played back without you recording anything. Channels that support it show a small red symbol next to the name. Press Guide, move back to a past program with that icon, and press OK. On MYTVOnline 2 you first have to tick the catch-up option at the bottom of the login’s Edit screen. Formuler gives 1 to 14 days as the usual window, set by the provider.
Recording to USB or a NAS
Plug in a formatted USB stick or hard drive, go to the channel and press the red Record button. Press it again to set how long it runs. To schedule a show, open the guide, pick a future program and press OK or Record. The box wakes from standby to record and then goes back to standby.
For a NAS, mount it under Home, then Network Storage, using its local IP address. Then set “Recording Storage Location” and “Timeshift Storage Location” to it in DVR Options, which is under Menu, Settings, App Settings in MYTVOnline 4 and Menu, Settings in versions 2 and 3. The Z12 Ultra records to its internal storage.
Two channels at once
Formuler’s MYTVOnline 3 page advertises watching two live events on screen together, plus picture in picture. Every stream counts against your plan’s connection limit, so a two-screen view or a record-and-watch session needs a plan that allows at least two devices at once. BuyIPTV.ca plans go from one device at $18 CAD a month up to four.
Parental controls and favourites
Formuler’s default system PIN is 0000. For the MYTVOnline parental PIN, Formuler suggests 0000 first, then 1234 or 7777. A box bought already set up by a seller may have a different PIN, and only that seller can tell you.
On MYTVOnline 4 you can hide adult or other sensitive categories under Menu, then the user icon at the top, the edit icon, and Sensitive Categories. Favourites live in the channel editor: open the channel list from Live TV and press Left. Formuler allows up to 10 favourite groups with up to 300 channels each.
MYTVOnline errors and common fixes
| Problem | Usual cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Error 7 on the first connection | The box cannot reach the service | Check YouTube plays, open the portal URL in a phone browser, and confirm the account is active |
| Error 7 after it worked before | Account locked or expired, or the details changed | Compare the login’s Edit screen with your latest email, then ask your provider to check the account |
| Portal login refused on a new box | The MAC ID was not registered or was typed wrong | Read the ID off the portal screen and send it again |
| Playback stops after a while with no input | The Playback Limit setting | Set it to Off. On MYTVOnline 4: Menu, Settings, Profile Settings, Display & Playback |
| Guide empty or shifted | EPG offset, or no guide data for that channel | Adjust the offset under the login’s Edit screen |
| Freezing and buffering | Home network, ISP or stream | Update the box, use a network cable, test on a phone hotspot, and try XC if you are on M3U |
Formuler says the box can be updated to its newest software at any time while it is online, so check for updates before anything else. For deeper buffering problems, our buffering guide walks through the home network checks.
Formuler vs MAG vs Firestick for IPTV
All three plug into the TV by HDMI. The differences are in the software and in how you log in.
| Formuler | MAG | Fire TV Stick | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Software | Android 11 or 12. GTV on Android TV 12 | Linux on MAG540 and 544. Google TV on MAG555 | Fire OS 8 (Android 11) on 4K Max 2nd Gen and 4K Plus. Vega OS on 4K Select, 4K 3rd Gen and HD (2026) |
| IPTV player | MYTVOnline, built in | Built-in portal on Linux models | None. You install one |
| Logins it takes | XC, MAC-ID portal, M3U | Portal with MAC on Linux models | Depends on the app |
| Recording | USB or NAS, in MYTVOnline | Not listed on Infomir’s MAG540 page | Depends on the app |
| Ethernet | Gigabit on Z11, Z12 and GTV | 100 Mbit/s on MAG540 | Through an Amazon adapter |
| Other apps | Formuler Market and Google Play | Only on the Google TV MAG555 | Amazon Appstore |
A Formuler suits the main TV in a Canadian household that wants a cable-box style remote with a full guide and recording in one app. A MAG suits a portal subscriber who wants the simplest box. A Fire TV Stick is the small, simple way to add a second room, though Amazon’s newest sticks run Vega OS instead of Android, so check that your player app is available for the exact model. Our Firestick app guide covers that side.
For antenna households, Formuler lists optional ATSC and DVB-T USB tuners and keeps a compatible tuner list. The CRTC notes that the ATSC standard has been adopted for digital over-the-air TV in Canada, so an antenna feed and an IPTV login can share one box. If you are still comparing services, our home page explains the plans and the free trial.
What a Formuler won’t do
- MYTVOnline 2, 3 and 4 come preinstalled on Formuler boxes, and Formuler calls MYTVOnline3 exclusive to its own hardware. The related MYTVOnline+ is a phone and tablet app, and its Apple listing covers iPhone and iPad only.
- Formuler supplies no channels. Its help desk states that portal URLs and logins come from your service provider.
- You pay for hardware upfront. Formuler’s site lists no prices and has no shop, so the box comes from a reseller, and a player app on a TV you already own avoids that cost.
- Neither the Z11 nor the Z12 range is sold as Google TV. If you need a particular app beside MYTVOnline, look for it in Formuler Market or Google Play first.
- Catch-up and two-stream viewing depend on your provider and plan. The box cannot add them.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I add an IPTV login in MYTVOnline 4?
Menu, then Settings, App Settings, Content Sources. Add a source, choose XC, and enter the server URL, username and password.
Where do I find the MAC ID on a Formuler box?
On the sticker under the box, and on the portal connection screen in MYTVOnline. Send it exactly as shown so your provider can register it.
What does error 7 mean on MYTVOnline?
Formuler describes it as a connection failure between the box and the service. Check your internet, the portal URL and whether the account is active.
Can a Formuler record IPTV?
Yes, to a formatted USB drive or a NAS, using the red Record button or the guide. The Z12 Ultra records to its internal storage.
Why does catch-up not work on my Formuler?
Formuler says catch-up is unavailable on M3U playlists. The channel also has to support it, so switch to the XC login and look for the red symbol beside the channel name.
Is the Formuler GTV a Google TV box?
Formuler’s page says the GTV is powered by Android TV 12 and runs MYTVOnline 2. It has Google Play, but it is not listed as Google TV.
Can I get MYTVOnline on a Firestick or smart TV?
Formuler ships the TV versions on its own boxes only. MYTVOnline+ exists for phones and tablets, so on a Firestick or smart TV you would use another player app.
Disclosure: we run BuyIPTV.ca, an IPTV service for Canadian households. Model specs, app versions, menu paths and error meanings come from formuler.tv and the Formuler help desk at support.formuler.tv, with MAG details from Infomir, Fire TV details from Amazon’s developer documentation, and the ATSC standard from the CRTC, all checked October 8, 2026.
