- Smart IPTV (SIPTV) is a player for Samsung and LG TVs, with an Android, Google TV and Fire TV version. It has no channels of its own.
- You open the app once, note its MAC address, and upload your M3U link at siptv.app/mylist.
- Activation is a one-time 5.49 EUR per TV, paid to the developer, not to your IPTV provider.
- On 2022 and newer Samsung TVs, version 3.1.3 is a new app: install it fresh instead of waiting for an update.
What you need before you start
The developer describes Smart IPTV as “just a media player” with “no channels included”, and activation adds none. You need two separate things:
- The app and its activation, from the developer at siptv.app.
- An IPTV subscription that gives you an M3U playlist link. On BuyIPTV.ca that link comes with your account, and you can test it first with the 24-hour free trial.

| Samsung Tizen, 2019 to 2021 models | Samsung Apps store version | Samsung Apps store, Video category |
| Samsung Tizen, 2015 to 2018 models | Manual widget | From a USB drive (see below) |

The €5.49 activation: what you pay and to whom
- Price: a one-time fee of 5.49 EUR for each TV or device. There’s no yearly charge.
- Paid to: the app’s developer, through the Activation page at siptv.app. Your IPTV provider doesn’t sell it.
- Payment methods: debit or credit card (no PayPal account needed), PayPal, or cryptocurrency (6 USDT/USDC).
- Per device: activation is tied to the TV’s MAC address or Device ID. Two TVs need two activations.
- Android 13 and later: the app has to come from Google Play, and activation is done inside the app under Settings > Device Info > Activate.
The developer’s advice is worth repeating: don’t pay to fix a problem. If your playlist won’t load or channels won’t play, activation won’t change that. Get the playlist working first.
How to set up Smart IPTV on a Samsung TV
- Press the Home button and open Apps.
- Search for Smart IPTV, or look in the Video category. On a 2022 or newer TV, make sure you install the current app (3.1.3).
- Open Smart IPTV once. The app has to run at least one time before its MAC address is recognised by the upload page.
- Write down the MAC address shown in the app, exactly, including the colons.
- On a phone or computer, go to siptv.app/mylist (see the upload steps below).
- Back on the TV, close Smart IPTV fully and open it again. Your channel groups should appear.
Older Samsung models (2015 to 2018 Tizen and the E, ES, F, H, J4 and J52 series) aren’t in the store. For those, siptv.app provides a widget file to copy to the root of a FAT32 USB drive. Insert it into the TV and the app appears under My Apps. On J series TVs, the developer suggests turning off Menu > Smart Hub > App Auto Update so the app isn’t removed on restart.
Useful Samsung remote keys in Smart IPTV:
- OK shows the channel list.
- CH LIST shows the guide.
- RED opens settings from the channel list, and picks the audio track during playback.
- RETURN hides the channel list and info bar.
- EXIT closes the app.
How to set up Smart IPTV on an LG TV
- Open the LG Apps store and go to the Entertainment category.
- Install Smart IPTV. On webOS 3.0 or later you get version 3.1.3.
- Open the app once and note the identifier it shows.
- Upload your playlist at siptv.app/mylist.
- Restart the app.
On LG, version 3.0.0 and later can’t read the TV’s MAC address, so the app uses a Device ID instead. The FAQ says that if the TV was activated before, the Device ID activates automatically when the app starts, and your old MAC address can still be used to upload playlists.
On webOS TVs, if a forced audio language doesn’t work, set webOS Video Mode to NC MPEG or NC Auto in the app’s settings.

Uploading your M3U playlist on siptv.app/mylist
The upload page is where the app gets its channels. Fill it in like this:
- MAC: type the MAC address (or ID) shown in the app.
- Choose URL and paste your M3U link. Use a direct link, not one that redirects. The M3U vs Xtream Codes guide explains what an M3U link looks like.
- Leave the playlist format on the default unless your provider tells you otherwise. The options are m3u8, ts and mpegts.
- Tick Detect EPG so the page picks up the guide link inside the playlist.
- Choose your EPG country so programme data matches your language.
- Leave “Save online” unticked unless your TV has trouble loading the list. The developer says it’s meant only for TVs with low memory.
- Send the form, then restart Smart IPTV on the TV.
You can add up to 10 playlists, but each one adds to upload and start-up time.
After your playlist works, use the Lock MAC (or Lock MAC/ID) button in the app’s settings. It stops anyone else from resetting or replacing your playlist through the upload page. To remove the lock later, enter the PIN 0000 when locking again.
Setting up the EPG
Smart IPTV reads the guide link embedded in your playlist when you tick Detect EPG on the upload page. Our playlists include it, so the guide fills in on its own after the restart. Press CH LIST on a Samsung remote to open it.
If programme times are an hour or more off, the cause is usually the TV’s time zone or the guide offset. The EPG guide covers the fix. If a big guide makes the app slow or the playlist fails to load, the developer suggests unticking Detect EPG and uploading again to test.
Common Smart IPTV errors and fixes
| Error or symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| “MAC address is not found!” on the upload page | The MAC was typed wrong, or the app has never been opened on the TV | Open the app once, then copy the MAC again character by character |
| “MAC address is not activated!” | The TV hasn’t been activated | Activate it at siptv.app/activation, or in the app on Android 13+ |
| “Your IP is reported for ban!” | The MAC is locked in the app | In the app’s settings, unlock the MAC with PIN 0000, then restart your browser and upload again |
| Upload doesn’t take, or the page shows an error | Wrong MAC, a redirecting link, or the playlist is too large for the TV | Check the MAC, use the direct M3U link, try again with Detect EPG unticked |
| “No playlist uploaded” | No playlist is linked to the MAC the app is using now, for example after a switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet | Check the MAC the app shows today and upload to that one; test with the example list on siptv.app |
| “Check playlist URL” or “Server (URL) connection timeout” | The link is wrong, offline or slow to respond | Unplug the TV at the wall for about a minute, then long-press 0 or CH, or long-click Reload, to force a reload |
| Playlist disappears after the TV restarts | The TV can’t keep the list in memory | Upload again with “Save online” ticked |
| “Stream failed”, “Cannot connect” or endless “Buffering…” | The stream is offline, or the TV doesn’t support its format | Try another channel; if all fail, see IPTV not working |
| Playlist still won’t load on a Samsung | Cached data on the TV | Reset Smart Hub or power-cycle the TV |
A note on the two MAC addresses: the FAQ says the second MAC is activated once you switch connection type and restart the app. If you move the TV from Wi-Fi to Ethernet, open the app again before you upload to the new MAC.

What Smart IPTV won’t do
- It doesn’t include channels, and activation doesn’t add any.
- It doesn’t have a login screen on the TV. Channels come from the playlist you upload on siptv.app.
- It doesn’t carry over to a new TV. Each TV needs its own activation.
- It won’t play formats your TV can’t decode. A stream that fails on Smart IPTV may play on a different player.
If you’d rather log in with a username and password, the Samsung and LG IPTV apps guide compares the other players for these TVs.
Smart IPTV: frequently asked questions
How much does Smart IPTV cost?
A one-time 5.49 EUR per TV or device, paid to the developer at siptv.app. There’s no yearly fee.
Does Smart IPTV come with channels?
No. It’s a player. You upload your own M3U playlist from an IPTV subscription.
Why does siptv.app say “MAC address is not found”?
Either the MAC was typed wrong or the app hasn’t been opened on the TV yet. Open it once and copy the MAC again.
Do I need to reinstall Smart IPTV on my 2022 Samsung?
If you have version 3.0.105, yes. Version 3.1.3 is a new app, not an update, so install it from the Samsung Apps store.
Can I use one activation on two TVs?
No. Activation is per TV or device.
